Announcing the arrival or our brand new marshal tabards for TT 2024
We are delighted to announce the arrival of our brand-new marshal tabards for TT 2024. These new sleeved tabards mark a significant enhancement in the visibility and safety of our marshals. This change, introduced by the Auto-Cycle Union (ACU), is set to benefit not just the marshals, but also the riders and spectators at the event.
The new sleeved tabards have been designed with a focus on practical benefits for the marshals. Equipped with pockets and a zipped front, these tabards offer convenient storage solutions for radios, warrant cards, and other essential items, thereby making the marshals' duties easier and more efficient.
TTMA Chairman Jane Corlett expressed her enthusiasm for the new tabards, stating:
"The new tabards have come about through health and safety advice from the ACU to make marshals safer around the course. The additional arm coverage provides a significant improvement in both safety for the marshals in the event of an incident and the visibility of marshals for riders, which is crucial given the high speeds at which they navigate the course.”
All marshals will be issued with a brand-new sleeved tabard when they sign on and pick up their packs, which are available from Monday 20th May. This initiative underscores our commitment to enhancing safety measures and ensuring our marshals are equipped with the best possible gear to perform their vital roles effectively.
We believe that these new tabards will play a critical role in maintaining the high standards of safety and organisation that the TT races are renowned for. We look forward to seeing them in action in the coming weeks and to another successful and safe TT fortnight.
